The Geolandar A/T-S uses Yokohama's new, silica-enhanced tread compound molded into a symmetric design that combines sculpted shoulder blocks, rounded-edge intermediate blocks, and staggered center blocks to blend on-road traction with off-road control. Then, patented "multi-step" grooves between the tread blocks increase the tire’s biting edges to enhance traction on desert terrain and loose, off-road surfaces. The tire's structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wound nylon on top of polyester body plies. Sidewall protectors are strategically located on the tire’s sidewall to help resist side cuts from rocks and stumps.
